Handling Precautions

Due to the nature of the finish—designed to preserve the unique texture of the cast iron surface—the color may wear off if subjected to friction or impact.
These items can be stacked for storage. Please note that rotating or rubbing them against each other while stacked may cause the color to wear off or transfer.
Do not place directly on fabric or slide across fabric surfaces, as this may cause the fabric to tear or the color to transfer.
Dropping the item or subjecting it to strong impact may cause it to break.
Storing the item in a humid environment may lead to rust.
Keep out of reach of infants and small children.

[“Japanese Blue, Material Blue” Series]
“Japanese Blue” has long been deeply woven into the fabric of daily life in Japan—from kimonos and *noren* (traditional fabric dividers) to everyday household tools and even sacred spaces.
Evoking a sense of freshness and tranquility, this shade of blue helps to center the mind. It has been cherished not merely as a color for functional objects, but as an essential hue that brings a sense of comfort and harmony to daily life.

Internationally, this shade is known as “Japan Blue.”
The term originated during the Meiji era, when Robert William Atkinson, a British chemist visiting Japan, was so struck by the sight of Japanese streets adorned with indigo-dyed kimonos and *noren* that he coined the name.

The “Japanese Blue, Material Blue” series brings together the craftsmanship and materials from various production regions across Japan, allowing you to experience the depth and power of a “blue” that remains beloved throughout the seasons.
